Deep tech, which broadly refers to technologies not focused on end-user services and includes artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, advanced material science, photonics and electronics, biotech, and quantum computing, has been a designated area for investment for as long as the tech industry has existed. Leading deeptech startups, incubators, and venture capital firms that support these entrepreneurs came together to join this group. Similar to many other industries, it has experienced changes in popularity as a result of outside factors. Under-the-radar deep tech lost even more of its reputation as consumer-friendly products, services, and other high-cost applications rose to prominence during the years when widespread usage of technology started to pick up speed.
